Mark James – Wrestling Historian


Mark James started in 2003 with a decisive goal of making sure the history and story of Memphis Wrestling was not forgotten.
Originally just a website, by 2006 Mark had quickly moved on to releasing books documenting Memphis Wrestling. By 2009, Mark had moved to helping former Memphis Wrestlers release their own autobiographies. In 2012 Mark had moved out beyond the limits of Memphis Wrestling and started doing books on other wrestling territories, including the Mid-Atlantic (Jim Crockett Promotions), Houston, Atlanta, the Mid-West (AWA), Detroit, Florida and Louisville. Larry Cathey


Larry Cathey has enjoyed a 25 year career in advertising and branding in both the private as well as corporate sectors.

In 2014, Larry embarked on his most ambitious endeavor to date, starting his own advertising agency,  Heycatstudios, in conjunction with also starting his own self-publishing venture, Heycat Comics. Heycat Comics flagship title; Mek Corps, is a story of a dystopian future bent to the will of a hardened global Warlord who touches the lives of the civilized world through the strings of his global corporate empire. With the death of one universe creating an near-infinite energy source that emerged into our own, his total control of the world nears completion, held at bay by a lone group of rebels who operate from the shadows. The series is scheduled for a total of 6 installments scheduled for completion by the fall of 2016.

Rick Burchett

Burchett began his artistic career in St. Louis, Missouri, and did his early professional comics work at First Comics, Pacific Comics, Capital Comics, and AC Comics; on titles including Black Diamond, E-Man, American Flagg!, Great American Western, and The Phantom. Moving to DC Comics (as well as the DC imprints Impact Comicsand Vertigo), Burchett’s first work for the company was on Blackhawk, followed by titles like Batman, The Flash, Superman, Black Hood, Wonder Woman, The Justice League, and Green Lantern.

Around 1985, Burchett and artist Don Secrease met a young aspiring artist and fellow St. Louis citizen named Jim Lee, and convinced him that he needed to show his portfolio to editors in person, prompting Lee’s decision to attend a New York comics convention,where he met editor Archie Goodwin.

Burchett received the Eisner Award in 1996 with Paul Dini and Ty Templeton for his work on The Batman and Robin Adventures. He shared the Eisner Award again in 1999, with Templeton and Terry Beatty, for his work on Batman: The Gotham Adventures.

In 2006 he became the ongoing penciller on Marvel ComicsShe-Hulk with writer and former Batman Adventures collaborator Dan Slott. As of 2011, he is the artist for The All-New Batman: The Brave and the Bold, the comic book tie-in to the Batman: The Brave and the Bold animated television series. Also in 2011, Burchett became the artist for the ongoing webcomic Lady Sabre and the Pirates of the Ineffable Aether, written by Greg Rucka.

Adrienne Zibart of Doll Face Cosplay is a maker of plushies, graphic art, Cosplay costumes and accessories. Adrienne won “Best Comic Character Costume” (1st Place) at Knoxville Comic Con 2014 with her “Original Harley Quinn”.

Chris Cross Cosplay


Chris Raines of ChrisCross Cosplay has made a goal for himself to prove that you CAN Cosplay on a budget. He started cosplaying in April of 2014 as a one off but decided that it would be a fun hobby to pursue. He has since become a member of The Rogues Gallery out of Nashville, invited by Carmike Regal Cinemas for movie premiers, and will be featured in a few DC inspired short films at the beginning of 2017.

Dyersburg Comic and Pop Culture Con Welcomes Featured Artist Jim Hall to the con.


Jim has worked for Marvel Comics on such titles as The Avengers, Silver Surfer, Guardians of the Galaxy. Jim worked for DC on such titles as Legion of Superheroes, and Primal Force. Jim worked on several Star Wars titles, Aliens vs Predator War, The Real Adventures of Johnny Quest for Dark Horse Comics. Jim also worked on the Protectors for Malibu Comics, and several other independent companies.
Jim is currently working on his own creator-owned titles.

Actor Santiago Cirilo (Julio) from The Walking Dead

Dyersburg Comic and Pop Culture Con is pleased to welcome Actor Santiago Cirilo (Julio) from The Walking Dead and other movie projects to the Dyersburg Comic and Pop Culture Con on March 18th, 2017 at The Lannom Center, 2000 Commerce Ave, Dyersburg TN. 38024.


He is the sixth of seven children to Hector and Maria Cirilo both originally from Puerto Rico. Santiago lived in both Ohio and Puerto Rico at a young age. Growing up in Lorain, Ohio was a big challenge for Santiago.

Deadpool, Detective Comics, & Conan Comic Artist John Lucas

The Dyersburg Comic and Pop Culture Con is very proud to announce Deadpool, Detective Comics, Conan, etc. Comic Artist John Lucas as a featured artist on March 18th, 2017 at The Lannom Center in Dyersburg Tennessee.


John Lucas is an American comic book inker and penciller, whose style has been compared with that of Russ Heath and Jack Kirby. A prolific freelance contributor to both DC and Marvel Comics, Lucas has also produced a great deal of small press work, as well as “Valkyries” (with Steve Moore) for 2000 AD. Lucas currently lives in Searcy, Arkansas.
